2. Social security scheme

The Cuttack Municipal Corporation is distributing Pension under NOAP/SOAP/ODP from the year 2004. Earlier the pension was distributed by the B.D.O.Cuttack Sadar. Monthly pension of Rs.200/- is given to OAP and ODP beneficiaries each month under the MBPY new nomenclature of SOAP/ODP and DP AIDS. The target/achievement and vacancy position under NOAP/SOAP/ODP scheme for the current year is given below.

 a. Old Age Pension / Widow Pension (National Old Age Pension / State Old Age Pension)
Financial assistance (monthly pension) of Rs.200/- is given to poor aged persons above 65 years under NOAP and above 60 yrs under SOAP. Widows of any age are also provided Rs. 200/-each month under the scheme on 15th of every month. No. of Pension Holder in NOAP - 6033 and SOAP - 6925
b. Orissa Disability Pension (ODP)
Financial assistance (monthly pension) of Rs.200/- is provided to orthopedically and physically handicapped person in each month. No. of pension holders getting disability pension are 986.
c. DP AIDS
The application of 81 nos DP AIDS have been recommended to Sub-Collector Sadar for payment of monthly pension of Rs. 200=00 to the beneficiaries.
d. National family benefit scheme (N.F.B.S)

A one time financial grant of Rs.10, 000/- is given to the legal heir of a poor deceased Person, Who is chief bread earner of the family and dies within 18 to 64 years of age. 92nos have already been benefited, out of sponsored 227, 8nos were rejected and 127 nos pending for sanction at sub- Collectors level.

3. Food security Scheme
The scheme ensures food security to the poorest of the poor and destitute in the urban community
a. Arnapurna Yojana

The scheme ensures food security for the poorest of the poor and destitute above the age of 65 years. Ten Kgs. of free rice is given to the beneficiaries every month. The number of beneficiaries covered under the scheme is 812.

b. Antodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)

The scheme also ensures food security for the poor and destitute above the age of 65 years. Under the scheme 35 Kgs. of rice at a nominal price of Rs.2/-per kg. is provided to the beneficiaries every month. 6695Nos. of beneficiaries have been covered under the scheme.

B.P.L CARD
21, 673 BPL cards are in use for distribution of PDS commodities in the wards of the city as per the 1997 BPL survey list. During the year 2004, survey was conducted to find out B.P.L families in CMC area including slums and after survey 55,245 families below the poverty line were identified and approved by Government and released the ward wise list through Web site for information of public. No BPL Card has yet been supplied by Govt.for distribution.
