Objectives
To provide healthy sanitary environment, preventive and curative health care services to the city dwellers, the corporation has efficient team of health service providers headed by City Health Officer.
Preventive services
The following preventive health services are provide by the corporation
- To prevent out break of epidemic there is mobile team to take care of complaints received by the health section.
- 12577 nos. of well & water sources have been disinfected during 2010-2011.
- 6568 nos. minor ailments have been treated by public health team.
- Awareness campaign are regularly under taken by Public Health Team forDiarrhea, Jaundice, influenza, Swine flu, Dengue, Chickungunya etc
- During natural calmities, fairs & fstivals etc. the public health team take contingent measures to contain sanitary and environment hazards.
- During intense summer public Health team attends the heat stroke patients immediately.
CURATIVE SERVICE: Cuttack Muncipal Corporation has five allopathic,tiolo Homeopathic and one Maternity Center in the corporation area. Only OPD facility is available in the Dispensaries and 143854 nos. of patients were treated in the year 2010-2011 and 49 nos. of deliveries have been conducted during the same year.
Sanitation and conservancy
In view of increasing shortage CMC’s own manpower, CMC has privatized 36 wards & 2 major Roads for cleaning & sweeping work with provision of Door to Door collection of garbages by Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd.(REEL) and in the rest 18 wards to the conservancy work in maintained by CMC. Garbage of the entire city is listed to the dumping yard at Chakardharapur by R.E.E.L from the bin points, daily in time. The garbage points are maintained properly and kept hygienic condition by sprinkling lime and bleaching Powder. For safe disposal of liquid wastes CMC has its own 33 MLD Treatment plant at Matagajapur before the disposal of drain water to river kathajodi. Measures have been taken to improve the public Latrines by CMC.Bush cutting and mass Sweeping Drive are being under taken to keep the city clean. Ramky has started mechanized sweeping since May 2011.
Solid waste management:
Ramky has been assigned the job of collection and transportationof municipal Solid waste to the dumping to the site at Chhakradharpur which is 30K.M away from Cuttack City. CMC has developed transfer point at Satichaura where the garbage trucks are weighed by Computerized Weighed bridge daily .
SLAUGHTER HOUSE
To prevent road side open slaughtering of smell animal, this corporation has made provision of 5Nos. Of *fitze,vcc64. Afed slaughter house-cum-sale centers at Khannagar, Nabazar, Satichoura, Parapila, & Kesharpur is a scientific manner. Steps are being taken to identify suitable sites for opening of slaughter for the big animals.
Mosquito control activities
CMC & NFCP Unit, Cuttack are jointly taking effective steps for comtrol of moaquito menace of the city. The drains are attended twice a week by NFCP coolies with application of anti larva agents. Most of CMC drains are flooded with Guffy & Gambusia fishes which are working as biological mosquito control & as natural hatchery. All the drains of CMC are desilted every year to prevent water stagnation and to reduce mosquito breeding.
Gog sterilization
To reduce stray dog menace one gog sterilization unit is functioning at Sartol round year and 3588 nos. Dogs have been De-warmed, Immunized against rabies and sterilized in the year 2010-11.
Bio Medical waste disposal
One private organization namely Sani Clean has been authorized by Govt. to collect & dispose the Bio Medical waste scientifically from city. One workshop of clinical establishments has been organized to stream line the handling & scientific disposal of Bio Medical waste. CMC is regulating the private Nursing Homes for proper disposal of Bio Medical wastes.
Ban of polythene
In its striving towards a cleaner and greener city Cuttack Municipal Corporation has banned the use of polythene in the city. In this regard one campaign under the name of ”SAY NO TO POLYTHENE” has been launched and regular activities are going on through ourt the year in the form if Door to Door canvassing, miking & medical campaign. Polythene raid activities are continuing by special squad to seize the polythene.
Food and Raid activities
(i) Regular food raids conducted by Food inspector and City Health Officers jointly. Noxious food are destroyed as and where found.
(ii) Awareness is created among the public, hotels & restaurants, road side eateries to supply good and hygienic under proper food license.

The corporation has introduced online Registration of Birth Deaths to facilitate timely issue of the certificate to the public.
